She bids... SHE SCORES!

So, after the death of my last camera, and the mourning process was complete... (which took about 10 minutes since it was a crappy camera anyway), I quickly started looking on Ebay for a new one. I finally found a model that a few people I know have and really like:
The Panasonic Lumix FZ5.

There was a particular auction that I was paying close attention too since it came with a lot of extra stuff, and also came with an amazing price. The Auction was ending at 8:30 last night, but we had an invite for a big family night get-together (a bunch of people we are singing in an octet with). At 8:15, I looked at the clock, and figured I better just put the auction out of my mind since there was no way I'd be home in time... I decided to come straight in when we got home and look at the price that it ended up going for. I signed in, and found that there was less than a minute left in the auction! The first clock must have been fast! I quickly upped my bid, and with two seconds left, I won! And it was still at an amazing price! Score! I'm so so excited. Happy early birthday to me! (and until it comes, my friend let me borrow her second camera to help with my camera addiction)... :)

Another one bites the dust...

So, I think my camera has officially "Bitten the dust". I'm so sad. It won't even turn on anymore. I knew I would be needing to get a new camera soon- but not this soon. I guess my birthday is next month, so maybe I can justify it. I'm also really addicted to taking pictures, so I don't know what I'm going to do until I get a new one! Ahhh... I did get a few more pictures the last couple days. So I'll share them as a last memory of my
Kodak EasyShare C633...

Rest in Peace
...

We had a family picnic in our front room for Jeff's night for Dinner.

And our great friend Bruce (One of Dallin's best friends) took out our apple tree stump with his backhoe the other day. The hat Dallin is wearing is a "CAT" hat that Bruce bought him for his birthday. Now they match. :)

A little belated...

Well- I've been meaning to get these pictures up... but I took a little break from the computer today. I was actually very proud of myself. You see... I'm a little addicted. Ok- I'm really addicted. I seriously get on facebook and my blog like 10 times a day! So today, I decided I was going to take control of the situation. I was amazed at how much I got done today! I cleaned, did dishes, played outside with Dallin most of the morning, went on a long walk with him, went to the grocery store and the post office, read in my book, read the paper, made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, muddy buddies, muffins, and pork chops, and went on another walk with Jeff. And there was more in between. I usually always have stuff to do like this, but today just seemed different. A lot of my time wasn't wasted like usual. Of course... I couldn't help but get on again tonight... but baby steps... baby steps...

We had a great weekend! My friends from high school- ok- more like elementary, came up on Saturday. It was so great to see Morgan and Mallory (I really love those girls), and meet Morgan's man Bryce. While the men were playing downstairs, us three were sitting upstairs- just talking about normal stuff... life in general, and Mal made the comment that the time had finally arrived that we had always talked about. The time where we sit around and talk about boring grown up stuff. Haha... Sadly- I understood what she was saying... but to me it wasn't boring! :) I love love love talking to other mommies about "the kiddlets", but to have a conversation with these two about things other than kids was sort of invigorating! Sorry it was kind of "boring" guys... but I loved it!
We also went on a little hike up to the "V" (a big rock with a "V" painted on it for "Valley High"). It was super windy at the top- but fun. Here's some pics...

(We made it to the top)

(ahhh...)

(Our family)

(Hikin' up- LtoR- Dallin, Mal, Morgan, Bryce, and Jeff)

After they left, we met my family and some of the kids' friends down in Springdale at their park. Has anybody ever been there? It's such an awesome park!! It's been awhile since I've been there, and I loved it. It's so funny, because no matter what family function it is, my mom always has her C.D. player with some "tunes" (as she says) playing in the background. It just always adds so much fun, and is so relaxing. And the couple picnicking next to us enjoyed it too.
We Ate. We played on the playground. We played some kickball. It was a really fun evening. We were sad when the day had to end.

(Me and my cute sis)

(So I know this picture is sort of creepy, but I wanted to put it on anyway)

(My bro-in-law, Garrett; his little sister, and my hubby)

(My cousin Brooke with Dallin, and Darrell and my Mom)

(Dallin was up to bat! er... kick!)

This is also a pic I took of Jeff on Saturday morning being a
"manly" pyro
. :)

So again... We had a great weekend. And I also had a great day. I know I need to be better about being on here, so hopefully I'll keep it up.

Another Post

So I know that I made three posts today... Sheesh. But I just wanted to tell those of you who know my hubby (a lot of you) that he now has crossed over to the blogging world. I must say myself that I'm pretty impressed! I never thought he'd do it just because he thinks its funny how into it I am... But alas- Here he is... So if you're interested- his page is linked in mine. Love ya hun!

Good times with Dad...

Dallin sure loves his daddy! He thinks he's the coolest person in the whole world and always wants to be with him, and do what he's doing. Dallin got new Lightning McQueen sunglasses this week, and want to be "cool dude" like daddy. (he doesn't put up him thumb in a "cool dude" position- instead he puts up his pointer finer) He liked the glasses so much that he went to sleep with them on...

Then, when daddy was mowing the lawn on Friday, Dallin was right behind him! He was so proud of himself for doing what daddy was doing. It was pretty fun. Dallin has an amazing father to look up to.

Woody and Jesse

I love that I live in a place where my best friend has goats... and chickens, and a bunny, and a dog and cat for that matter. But the goats are definitely the coolest. Last time we went to see the baby goats, we had the traumatic experience where Dallin passed out... remember? So I never actually got to see the babies. Finally last week, I was able to see them. They are so cute! Dallin had such a fun time with them. Who needs a petting zoo when you have friends?

And- As a side note... Chantelle (the owner of the zoo) just had her 4th baby (and 4th girl!!) yesterday. She's amazing. She's had all four natural, and this one was 9 lbs 5oz. Yay for her!! Congrats Chantelle and Brent on baby Ellie!

Baby James

My cute, cute little nephew went into open heart surgery at Primary Children's hospital today. He was born with a hole in his heart, but they wanted to wait until he was older to see if it would need surgery to close it up. They were hoping that it would close on it's own, but unfortunately it didn't. They surgery went really well though, and they think he'll only need that one. When they opened him up, they found that his hole was actually bigger than they thought, and that his blood flow was going backwards. His heart was also enlarged a little because of all the work it was doing. So it was a really good thing that it was done. We are SO happy that things look great for him, and he's definately been in our (including Dallin's) prayers! We love you baby James! Get better quick! And we love you too Judy and Jared.

P.S. Judy and Jared... If any of these details are wrong- let me know. :) I'll fix it.

Book Exchange

Calling all mommies, (or soon to be ones).
I just got involved with a book exchange. It's a lot of fun... It works out to where you send out one book, and end up getting around 36 back for your child in return. It's great- and it fun for the kids to get mail of their own and open their own "surprise". I want any of you who want to, to be involved- but I just don't have any physical addresses. If you're comfortable leaving them on here- you can... Or just email me your physical addresses and I'll get you the paper right away!
jumpjive_n_jenna@hotmail.com
It will be a lot of fun- for us and our kiddos!

I'm excited to start it, now that I have more time on my hands since Drama is over.

Idol Gives Back...

Did anybody watch this last night? Jeff and I just love American Idol and watch it every week. One of the best nights of the season is the "Idol Gives Back" night. I love it that so many stars come together for one night for the one purpose of helping others. I felt like I was pregnant throughout the entire show just because I was so close to tears a number of times.
We are so blessed. Truly, truly blessed. I watched so many kids and mothers who are suffering in so many ways, and I'm so grateful to live in a town where my kids can play outside, where everyone is there to help you out. We have plenty of food, clean water, a beautiful home, school, grass, and most importantly- the Gospel.
I hope that those of you who watched felt as great inside as we did. And hopefully you were able to give just a dollar or two...

Flashback...

So- I've lost my camera!! I know, I know! I can't believe it either! I'm sure it's just somewhere in my house... but all of these things are happening the last week and I have no idea where it is... Hopefully I find it soon! Wish me luck...

Well- On Friday night, Jeff and I totally jumped back to our high school days! (Well- technically- when Jeff was a senior in high school- I was only 10... but hey... only a minor technicality...) We were able to be chaperone's for Valley High School's Jr. Prom. They asked us to get all dressed up. It was fun! Ok- When I was back in high school, we had a dance about every month... So each dance was awesome- but nothing like this!
There is only one formal a year here, and they go ALL out!! They spent two weeks preparing and decorating the gym, and they leave the decorations up for another week for a casual dance and a fashion show. Inside was Amazing! The entire gym is completely transformed. This year was "Snowflake Fantasy", So there were real ice sculptures, a circling centerpiece above head with huge snowflakes, Penguins bigger than Jeff... and an eight foot coca-cola bear (that was sort of random- but cool). It's hard to get the full effect without really being there. There was also a "invite only" "tea room" where there were refreshments for Jr.'s, Sr.'s, Faculty and parents. I also loved that it was a small "old" school, so the Jr.'s danced the official "Promenade", for everyone and the parents. Did anybody else do this at their school? The Jr. Class has about 20 kids, and they have been practicing for over a month on this. They did awesome. It was beautifully choreographed. They only bad part was that we had Dallin... And it was WAY past his bedtime... So we ended up going home early just because we REALLY needed to get him home. We just procrastinated too long for a babysitter. I wish I would have had my camera for all of this... Fortunately, our neighbor took a few pictures for us on hers on our way out. Anyway- we had a great time.

Tag- You're it...

So I've been tagged twice now, so I need to get caught up.
I was just tagged for a "Friday Fill In" from Jess. Here's my answers in bold:

1. Some relationships are meant to teach you something about yourself.

2. Jon Schmidt with Peter Breinholt is the last concert I saw; it was outside at Tuacahn (Jeff and I were engaged), and really fun.

3. Spring should be blossoming at a faster rate!

4. Oh no! I forgot to change the clothes to the dryer- thanks for the reminder. :)

5. I've recently started to get baby hungry... :)

6. Jeff's laugh, Dallin's dance moves, and Gilmore Girls never fails to make me smile.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to a high school dance again- Jr. Prom! Jeff and I are chaperone's and they asked us to dress up too, tomorrow my plans include winning the grand prize at Ladies night at Deseret Book!, and Sunday, I want to have a really yummy dinner that I don't have to make!

So- Now I tag Lacey, Brielle, Teresa and Nicole.
..........................
The other tag was by Jeff's Cousin, Charlotte, and it's a very... unique kind of tag- haha. Here's what you do:

1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages)
2. Turn to page 123
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog
5. Tag 5 people

So- The closest book to me at the moment was "The Proper Care & Feeding of Husbands", by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. Haha... I've never actually read the entire book in order, but I've read a lot of excerpts one at a time. It's actually pretty good... Anyway. The 5th sentence was:
"Is it that men don't need romancing?"
Haha- I'll give you a little background from the previous paragraph:
"... That a wife cleans the house or drives the kids all over town or argues a big court case is all wonderful, but it's not giving of herself to her husband. While fulfilling the obligations and responsibilities of taking care of the house and family is an essential part of giving in a marriage, other folks could be hired to do it. The real essence of giving is more intimate, sensitive and vulnerable, and up close and personal... Romancing a spouse is supposed to be a two-way street, but I'm wracking my brain trying to think of one movie, book, play, or conversation on the radio, when I've heard a man describe his wife as romantic. I can't think of one time. Is it that men don't need romancing? No, don't believe that. Is it that men define romancing differently? Probably... when men think of being romantic, they think of what women like: sweet words, flowers, perfume, dinners out, and gifts. When men think of women being romantic toward them, they think less of what she can go out and buy or specifically do; and think more of how she presents herself to him as a woman and how she reinforces his ego by treating him as desirable and competent. It's how she makes him feel like a real man and her hero."

:) Anyway- Dr. Laura is an interesting lady- I've never really listened to her show, but my grandma got me the book, and it turned out better than I thought. I tag: Jess Feth, Jessica, Steve, April, and Laura... Just because I wonder what kind of books they have lying around.

Happy Birthday "Two" You!

Well, I can't believe I'm the mother of a two year old... It's sort of unreal. Dallin's Two Year Birthday was yesterday, April 2nd. Where did that time go? I know all of you mothers can relate. I really didn't think time went that fast until Dallin came along.
Two years ago, I called my mom on April Fools, and told I was going into labor. Of course it was a joke... After that, I went to Lady's Night at Deseret Book and stood the whole two hours. By the end of the night I was SOO swollen and puffy, and my ankles were the same size as my knees. I went back to my mother in law's house (we were there for conference), and made a Shrimp dinner. Finally, Jeff and I got to bed at 1:00, and I woke up an hour later with contractions. Unfortunately, I didn't really know what was happening. I still had a month to go with the pregnancy, and I thought this is what they called "Braxton Hicks". But no... It was time... We drove down to St. George at 8:00 and was told I had Toxemia, so they were going to keep me. Right after that, my water broke, so I definately knew I was stuck there. I had to call my mom and tell her that I definitely wasn't "April Fool-sing" this time. Our little Dallin came 14 hours later (Sheesh!) at 11:07 at night. He came in at 5 lbs even- He was so tiny! But beautiful. And Perfectly healthy (besides Jaundice a few days later). Like I said- It definitely doesn't feel like two years have passed!

He had a wonderful birthday. We woke up in the morning and sang "Happy Birthday" and he kept blowing and looking for candles... haha. We had fun all day blowing balloons and playing. I kept asking him how old he was, and every time, he'd say "I'm one". After Jeff came home, we got the rest of the house all clean, and we had our friends the Blodgetts, the Roses, his adoptive grandparents- the Carrolls, and our other neighbors- Judy and Shane over for a little "Winnie the Pooh" birthday party. Just cake and ice-cream, but it was a lot of fun... I made do with the cake, since cake decorating definitely isn't one of my talents- haha. But it turned out cute enough. My camera was nowhere to be found, so luckily Chantelle had hers. Unfortunately, there's no sound on the movie of us singing Happy Birthday, but I thought it was cute anyway (Please ignore the nose picking as it starts... :)

P.S. Before he went to sleep, we asked him one more time how old he was and he said,
"I'm Two!"
