Pregnancy Tag

Ok... So I really don't have hardly any pictures of me pregnant! It's kind of sad. And all the ones I do have, I look horrible! If anybody has some pictures of me pregnant, could you email them to me? Seriously this is all I have. But... here they are... in all my glory.
This is at 2 months:

At 18 weeks (the day we found out he was a boy!):

At My baby shower in St. George- 34 weeks:

A few days before he was born- 36 weeks

1. Was your first pregnancy planned? Sort of... We weren't expecting it to be that soon, but we weren't doing anything to prevent it either. :)
2. Were you married at the time? Of course... for 1 month! :)
3. What were your reactions? Excited... a little scared.
4. Was abortion an option for you? NEVER!! (and never will be)
5. How did you find out you were pregnant? My friend Chantelle was also having signs of pregnancy, and she already had two kids... So I started telling her how I was feeling and she said, "I need to look at you". She drove over, took one look and said, "You definitely have the glow!". I also took a test at Marci's house (but didn't realize you had to let it sit for a while) and left thinking it was negative. She called me back a few minutes later and said it was positive and I didn't believe her. A week later, I came into town for an appointment, and finally took a positive test.
6. How old were you? 19
7. Who did you tell first? Jeff of course (We pretty much knew from the moment it happened. :), Marci, Chantelle and Brent, then our parents and grandparents.
8. Did you want to find out the sex of the baby? Definitely!
9. Due Date? April 27th, but he was measuring small (Had him April 2nd)
10. Did you have morning sickness? I was nauseated a LOT, but only threw up once just randomly (and one weekend because of the flu, and another time because of food poisoning)
11. What did you crave? Pizza... Didn't matter what time of day it was.
12. What irritated you the most? Having my back hurt so bad, and being SOOO swollen! I retained so much water!
13. What was your first child's sex? BOY!
14. Did you wish you were having the opposite sex of what you were getting? Not really, I was just kind of shocked it was a boy because I SOO thought it was a girl. But once I found out it was a boy I was so happy!
15. How many pounds did you gain during pregnancy? 40 something (I had gained 41 the week before he was born...)
16. Did you have a baby shower? Yes! My friends and family were so great! One of my baby showers had to be rescheduled because I had Dallin two days before it was supposed to happen.
17. Were your showers a surprise? No
18. Did you have any complications during pregnancy? Well, I had toxemia, which is why they finally gave into keeping me at the hospital (although my water broke on it's own an hour after we got there so we would have been back anyway)
19. Where did you give birth? Dixie Regional Medical Center
20. How many hours were you in labor? From start to Finish- 21 hours
21. Who drove you to the hospital? Jeff. We were in Cedar, so we had an hour drive (but better than Orderville which is two).
22. Was it a vaginal delivery or c-section? Vaginal delivery
23. Who watched the birth? Jeff, My doctor, and the nurses in the room.
24. Did you take medication to ease the pain? Oh yes! I went from 2:00 am to 6:00 pm without anything, and finally had a mental breakdown and got the epidural :). SOOO glad I did!
25. How much did your baby weigh? 5 lbs even
26. When was your baby actually born? April 2nd, 11:07 pm
27. What did you name him? For the first night of his life, his name was Jeremy. Then we heard the nurse call him that, and we both looked at each other and decided it TOTALLY wasn't him. The next morning we named him Dallin Joseph Corry. (Which is what Jeff actually called him the day of our ultrasound randomly).
28. How old is your first born, today? 2 years, 2 months and 26 days

Three Years!!

Yesterday was my three year anniversary with my wonderful husband, Jeff. :) We've talked about it quite a bit, and to us... Ya-It's crazy to actually say we've been married for three years, but at the same time it feels like we've just been together forever. I love it! :) We've had a wonderful three years and feel like we have been so blessed! Moving to Orderville, having an adorable little boy, enjoying great jobs, wonderful friends... We're just very happy with how these last three years have been... :)
It was such a relaxing anniversary. We pretty much did nothing all day! :) Our neighbors (Barbara and Norman- his adoptive grandparents) did watch Dallin for us for a little bit while Jeff and I went over to the Sandwich shop around the corner and got dinner and some ice-cream. We walked back and sat on our front porch for a long time just hanging out and finishing our ice-cream. Then we went back and got Dallin, put him to bed, and watched a movie together. So simple, yet so nice. :) My mom is watching Dallin for us again on Thursday while we're in St. George so we can do something else too! So that will be fun- Maybe I'll remember to take some pictures of THAT date! :)
Jeff- I'm sure you'll read this at some point, so I just wanted to tell you that I love you. I really mean it when I say that you complete me. Thank you for all the wonderful times and memories of the last three years! Here's to many more to come! Love you my honey!

We met in "HOPE" choir...
and sang our way into each other's hearts... :)

One of our engagement Pictures:

Two of our Wedding day... :)
Honeymoon: (I love how Jeff is wearing my purse.
I asked him to hold it, and forgot to get it back from him for a while... :)

4th of July (a week and a half of being married)

And on Mothers Day this year:

Anyway- just a few pictures... I started to put a lot more on from throughout all three years, but I decided I already had a lot of pictures on here... :)
I'm so greatful to be married to such a spiritual, caring, good-looking :) man. Thank you Jeff for everything! I love you.

Death to the Eyelash Curler...

I'm hereby fuming mad at this silly little invention.

Ok... Really I should be mad at myself for not paying better attention.
So, Yesterday, as I'm finally getting ready for the day, Jeff decided to put in a movie. Dallin was sleeping and we just wanted to spend some time together. I'm doing my make-up at a leisurely pace, since I have nothing really to do... Taking my time to do it really well for once. I get to the point where I always curl my eyelashes. I've been doing this for 4 years now, and am always very careful. I clamp down hard on my top lashes, right as an exciting part in the movie started. I look over to see what's going on... and...
SLIP...
I start to feel a burning pain and look down at my eyelash curler, only to my horror, to find about 30 lashes on the rubber. I almost fainted. I started bawling and freaking out and Jeff was gracious enough to calm me down.

I am now "eyelashless" from my pupil to my nose on the top of my eye.
Ya.
I'm so so depressed and embarrassed, and everything I looked up on the internet said it takes anywhere from 4-6 weeks to grow back! I guess I'll be learning how to put fake ones on soon.

Last Week

Well- A little late, but last week we were in St. George almost the whole week, and wanted to share some of our fun times. If more than anything this is a "journal entry" for me... since I don't do very well on a regular journal. :)
It was definitely a busy week:
Monday- went to Cedar for Jeff's dentist appointment... Not so fun... but needed I suppose. After chatting with his mom for a bit, we drove down to St. George to my mom's house for family night. Kellie and Garrett, and Scott were there so we had a lot of fun. BBQ'd hamburgers, played a really fun game called "Last Word" (anybody played that before?), and had Jello Poke cake for dessert, and roasted s'mores for dessert. (The marshmallow roaster sticks were made by my grandpa... the whole family has them. Kind of fun... :) Dallin also played guitar hero with Scott- My brother is amazing at this game!! It was a really nice relaxing evening.

Tuesday- Jeff had a training class (Core Academy) over in Washington, so while he was gone, Kellie, Scott and I took Dallin Swimming.

Then after Jeff was done, Kellie and Garrett watched Dallin and took him to the park, and Jeff and I went to the temple. I love going there! We did some sealings and I love being able to stare at Jeff like the day we got married. :) We also went to Charlies. A fun little date. Then over to my grandma's- and never fail- her beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in.

Wednesday- Jeff has training again, and I went to Kellie's again. This time Brent and Chantelle had a doctors appointment with Faith down there, so we watched their two middle ones. Dallin is so in love with Brielle. He talks about her every day. Poor kid... he's going to have his heart broken on of these days... Jeff also came and swam with us after his class. Then back to my grandma's for dinner. I LOVE having dinner at my grandmas!

Thursday- Training... yet again... and while Jeff was there, my grandma and I drove BACK to Cedar for mine and my mother-in-law's jewelry party. I ended up having to leave a little early, but we had a good time. Back to St. George- Then we picked up Jeff, had dinner at my grandma's again, and drove home.

Friday- Did pretty much nothing all day. We deserved it- haha. Did stay up until 2:30 though trying to get some stuff done for Saturday.

Saturday- Peeled my self out of bed at 6:15, packed up the car with stuff, and headed BACK down to St. George for Mal's bridal shower. It was really fun. I was in charge of the decorating, and I made her a little recipe tin, and a glass block, and some simple vases to go on the tables.

(At the Bridal shower) (3rd grade)

I also made the invites which turned out pretty cute. Yay for my photoshop! :) It was good to be with Mal. I love that girl. :) Also it was good to talk to Syd, Morgan and Shari. I love that with some people, even though you've havn't seen each other in a while, you can pick up right where you left off... After the shower, Jeff and I headed home through Cedar to pick up stuff for Chantelle, and then home again... And went to another bridal shower for my friend's (Autumn) sister (Summer). I won like every game- I was seriously giving out "good luck Karma" to quote Autumn. haha. It was awesome.

Sunday- Finally a day of rest... sheesh. Nap time definitely didn't come soon enough.

"Appy Otters Day..."

(...Or so Dallin calls it. :) He sure talks up a storm!! But still has a hard time pronouncing things right, and getting the exact words down... haha... Oh well- I understand his lingo perfectly fine. That's all that matters.)

I am so blessed to have so many great men in my life. My husband, dads, and grandpas! I wanted to at least give a shout out to all of them... (I wish I had pictures of all of them on my computer). Some people don't believe me when I say Dallin has 14 grandparents- all alive and well... But he really does! Here's just the grandpas: Grandpa Corry (Jeff's Dad), Grandpa Darrell (My step dad), Grandpa Alan (My dad), Grandpa Hefley, Papa Bill, Grandpa Emmett, Pop, and Grandpa Mike. We are very blessed to have such a great family. Happy Father's Day to all of you- We love you and are so glad you are all apart of our lives.

And especially to my "dads":
Dad- I love you. You have always been so supportive of me and have always helped me achieve all that I could. Thank you for always believing in me. I'm proud to have such a smart and talented dad like you. I also have a lot of your perfectionism traits- sometimes it can be annoying... haha but most of the time- its a great thing- thanks for that... :)

Darrell- I love you so much too. You stepped up to the plate and have been so good to us kids. I can talk to you about anything and you always give great support to Jeff and I. You're so good to mom, and I love that you can always make us laugh. I can't imagine my life without you now.

And to the most important man in my life: I want to tell you thank you for being such a great dad. Dallin loves you and really wants to be just like you- which explains him following you around everywhere when you're home and asking for you first thing in the morning. He's a little clone of you and I'm so glad... You are so wonderful to play with him, and teach him things about the gospel. Thank you for being such a great example to him... I hope you had a great Father's day. I love you with all my heart. And so does your son... :)

Flash Back Friday

So, Mallory Izatt and I were talking on the phone a few days ago and realized that we have been friends for 15 years (and counting). Same goes for Lacey Stanley (Gubler- or Lacey S. Gubes- haha) . We were so inseparable for our elementary years! They were my first friends when I moved to Santa Clara. Lacey had just moved in as well, was in Mrs. Humphries' 2nd grade class with me, and we sat right next to each other. Mallory lived right across the street and I would be there almost every day. We stayed in the same class all through the rest of Elementary and were definitely best buds. This picture is on my 13th birthday in 7th grade. (I love the gap socks and Doc's we all had!) I had to have knee surgery because of an injury in Leisure Services Basketball (who knew it could be so brutal), and this was the day I got my brace off for the first time. We went out to Chilies for dinner, and then my mom drove us to the Mall and they wheeled me around while we went shopping. When we got back, my mom made me get up and walk to the car to help the healing process. My muscles had atrophied so bad after 6 weeks of NO pressure, and I fell straight to the ground. I was so embarrassed to have Mallory and Lacey there staring at me. But we were friends, and they could care less- haha. We had SOOO many more adventures together- I can't even begin to name them all! Sheesh!
Now Lacey is expecting a baby next month, (and it's her birthday in a few days! :) and Mallory is getting married in three weeks. We're all grown up! Thanks guys for still being such good friends! I love ya!

Catching up... again...

OK. So Jeff took Dallin to "Fathers and Sons" tonight for the first time (so cute!), and I finally have some quality time to get caught up on some much needed blogging.
I hate when I just don't update everytime I think about it. Then I get all backed up, and have to do a MAJOR catch-up. Which isn't as fun as one everyday. So sorry about the majorly long post about a lot of nothing... but it needed to be done... :) Here it goes...

First- Jeff's class went to Zion National Park on a field trip and also stopped at the Indian place as well. On the way down- there happened to be a really bad accident involving a motorcycle. Traffic was stopped for quite a while and only one lane was able to go once they got one of the passengers life-flighted. When it was my turn to go (I drove down separate from the bus), they made me stop for another car to turn and two feet away from my drivers side door was a fresh body bag. It hit me so hard. There was still a HUGE mess from everything and it just made me sick. I kept thinking about the scene over and over for the next couple days, and couldn't get the image from my head. I don't know how cops and anybody in the medical field does it... On the way home I just kept thinking about how those mountains were the last thing that the guy saw before he died. And he had no idea what was coming around the turn. It's amazing how fast something can take you away... it really freaked me out... You just have to live every day to the fullest.
On a better note- the field trip was a lot of fun. Dallin just LOVES the kids in his class, and he has a crush on a girl named Ebby in the class. He's so funny and he tries to show off for her. Here's a few picures from the day:
Taking a break during lunch:

Jeff and I:

the "duy in the pee-pee ana hoot-hoot"
(Traslation: The guy in the Tee-pee with the Flute)
Dallin loved this guy, even though we think he was high...

A lady talking to Jeff and his class:

That same night, a bunch of famlies went to the park for a BBQ. The greatest thing about it is that the women didn't have to do anything! The guys made to die for dutch oven pasta and enchiladas, rolls, and "better than (any term that you grew up with)" cake. Mmmm... We sat with our friends the Roses, and you think it would kill the guys to get a good picture?? sheesh...

Also- I love this picture of Dallin running for some reason,
And this is the Roses' little baby Sadie (3 months)... So cute!!

Later that week, we went to Cedar for Cedar High's graduation. I didn't really see any of it, since Dallin was being impossible... but I did get inside to take some pictures of Laura walking to get her diploma. She was so ready to be done with high school- haha. She did a great job though and is such an awesome tennis player! Now she's headed up to Logan! (P.S. This picture was taken inside the SUU Centrum, all the way at the opposite side of the stands! Pretty good zoom!)

Lately Dallin has been really into the PBS kids show "Super Why". I'm really a big fan of T.V. rather than movies, just because of how much Dallin gets into the T.V. shows, and learns from them. When ever they ask the "audience" a question, he always answers back, and he's starting to get his letters down so well! (We've also been helping him with letters with the Leapster Letter Factory that Tyler Fagg suggested-thanks!) Anyway- In one episode, they were trying to turn the Snake that was on the table into a Cake. They showed the "ake" part of the word, and put a "C' by it. Dallin said "a C!". Then they showed the word all together and said "what does that say"... and he said "Cake!" I was shocked! He really is learning from the things that I tell him! I love it. haha. Anyway- this show is a really cute show. We downloaded some episodes off of itunes too. If you have kidlets, it's a great show to get them into. This is him with his new love- his "super why cape":
On last Sunday, both the Blodgetts and the Roses had their baby girls blessed. It was a beautiful day (with lots of food!) :) They are such sweet little girls... it makes me baby hungry really bad to hold both of them! :)

One of their friends found a baby skunk and he was so cute! Dallin didn't know what to think of him and he kept calling him "the stunk".

This last week has been really busy. We got Dallin into a "big-boy" bed... and it's going... ok... He likes to sleep in it- it's just that he always falls out- even with the safety bar on the side. Tuesday night, he fell out in the middle of the night and got a really bad bloody nose. Dallin and I were up for an hour and half trying to get things cleaned up, and get him back to sleep. Anybody have any suggestions for this?
Also this week- we had a lot of fun in the sun. Monday we went to the water park in Kanab with the Blodgetts. Jeff and Brent were done with their training by 12:30, so they met us at the park and had a big picnic lunch. I love that both of our husbands teach and that we can have so much free time in the summer together.

We also had a bunch of Dallins friends (all girls! We need some more testosterone filled babies around here!) come over for lunch and a little pool party. The kids had so much fun, and I think I want to do something like this once a week. I was surprised how easy it was to get 6 little kids fed and into the water... I was expecting a lot more work... But it was a lot of fun!
I got this table for free- it goes down to perfect size for a kids picnic table! add logs for chairs and you're set! :):

Dallin wasn't expecting it to be that cold, and Karlie looks too cute in this pic (they're a day apart)

Thursday, Dallin and I went on a much needed ride. It's been TOO long since I've been! I was starting to get really antsy. Dallin loved every minute of it and kept yelling "Yeehaw Bullseye!" (from Toy Story). I loved it too... but my bum?? Not so much... :) I was so sore the next day from waiting too long between rides.

And FINALLY- the only purpose of this picture is to show Morgan how long my hair is because she asked... :)

And that's all folks!! Sorry I had to take you on the longest post ride of your life... :) But I seriously needed to update. I'll be better and post more rapidly for now on. Have a good one!
