Proud to be an American...

...I had this song in my head all day on the 4th. What a wonderful day. Like I said before, It's my favorite holiday! I love the smell of the fireworks and BBQ's... the colors of old glory... the old veterans walking in their uniforms... the parades... the songs... the togetherness... that unified feeling of freedom. It's just a magical day for me.
We had such a great day!! Woke up in the morning to Brother and Sister Glover. :) Every year they hook up a big stereo system and microphone to the top of their car, and drive around town playing patriotic music, and saying good morning! Gotta love Orderville. :) Next year, I'll get a picture of it. :) Theres a free breakfast at the town park that the town council always cooks. It was really yummy! Then Dallin was in the parade. I ended up doing my original idea, and we added in Autumn and Bruce's little girl to be Mary Todd. :) They threw pennies over the trailer and said "Lucky Pennies". They were seriously too cute!

My cute little Abe, and his Mary Todd:

After the Parade, Jeff and I were in charge of the town program. I was really nervous about it, but it turned out really neat! We had a few speakers, One was our friend Bruce who read a poem he wrote. I got all of it but the first verse on camera:

Jeff and I also sang in a quartet with some other friends, Robert and Emilee Lacey. After the program, there were two bouncy houses, lunch, and a big water slide that Dallin loved this year. Last year- not so much... :). He didn't want to leave.

After a much needed nap, our Nieghbors/Landlords/Adopted Grandparents invited us over for a BBQ in their backyard with their family. Barbara makes the best food! She's an amazing lady!
And Finally, we ended the night by going to Kanab and watching the fireworks at the park down there. The show went on FOREVER! I think everyone started clapping at the "end" about 8 or 9 times! It was a really great show though. And the perfect end to the day!

One last thing: Dallin learned what to do when you see a flag, and did it all day! On this video, he doesn't say it quite as good as he was the rest of the day, but you get the gist. Such a cutie.

I love Orderville on the 4th!! This was probably one of the first years that I wasn't able to be there. We had a good time in Cedar but there is something about small town celebrations...
