Question...

Quick Question for everyone...
What do you get somebody in your family that has plenty of money to go around, seems like they have everything, and is kind of picky? Any suggestions?! I need some quick since I'm going shopping this weekend... Help me!

Jenna, my whole extended family in-laws are like this. I ask myself this question every year and every birthday. What it has boiled down to with them is giftcards (which I hate!!!it's so impersonal and there's no thought involved)but it keeps them happy. Everytime I've tried to be creative, or thoughtful or anything, it always backfires and they will take the gift back and exchange it for something else they want (not even worrying if I find out and it might hurt my feelings that I tried so hard and they don't care). Sentimentality (I don't think I spelled that right) does not exsist with this family so I just do what works. If this describes your situation than that's my suggestion. (I hope its not) I sincerely wish you good luck!!!

Here is a thought. Instead of buying them something, why not do some kind of service for them. Service is the best gift to give and the best gift to recieve.....Its just a thought.

Maybe get them a game. Like a board game. This way your promoting family time lol. Thats what I did for my in-laws who have everything.

I second the board games and gift card ideas. I've definitely used those! This may be funny but I usually write a longer and more thoughtful card to the person that is hardest to buy for. I think it has something to do with never feeling like my gift is enough. You never can go wrong with telling someone all the reasons you are so grateful to know them and have them in your life.

Make something with a picture of your family in it. A game is always good too. Make up a game. Go to the dollar store and buy them a box of practical jokes. We got it at a party last night and it's so funny. You really don't need to do that but it just was funny. LOL

I am bad because I have sat and thaught about it for a few minutes and all I can think of is who cares if they don't like it! (my poor attitude comes from experience). I have spent a lot of time making things for people and lets just say that I spent a lot of time making a quilt just to see it be thrown on the dirty floor of a garage! Yes I was quite bitter and vowed that I would never put so much effort into gifts in the first place. Well, I never went through with my plan and I try and think of something unique. This year chosen theme of my gifts and the people who are getting them don't exactly participate in it, but I just hope they know this is something important to me and that I would love it to be important to them too. What to get the person who has everything? My answer nothing, but a note telling them you couldn't find just the right thing to show them you love them, you decided to tell them instead. Merry Christmas Corrys!
