PTA?

When I was 15, I received my Patriarchal Blessing. And in it, I was told to be a member of the PTA... My kids obviously are not in school yet, so I have become President of a different PTA...

I had serious issues last weekend. :)

Friday, I didn't fully THROW a party, but I helped with one for my friend Summer Brady, my friend Autumn's sister. She stared going into Labor at 24 weeks, and was put on total, very strict bed rest... and has thankfully made it all the way to 37 weeks and still counting!

Her mom and sister threw her an awesome baby shower with a "Sleeping Beauty" theme! It was so cute. Autumn's girls dressed up as the three fairies in outfits that their grandma made.

Saturday, I was in charge of our Ward Luau! I was really nervous on how it was all going to turn out, but I thought it ended up being really fun! Bridgette (My lifeline on this one) and I spent all Saturday morning setting up the cultural hall! We also had a little group called "Tu'Tu' and her Keikis" (Grandma and her Children) come perform for us! They did such a great job! For one number, they had the bishopric and the missionaries come up and learn a hula. They really got their groove on! :) After the dance, the cute girls put a lei around everyone and gave them a little kiss on the cheek. One of the Elders, Elder Tolentino, practially jumped off of the stage to avoid her! It was so funny! But good job at being a good Elder! :) I thought it turned out great!!

On Monday, we threw a "Cuatro De Mayo" Party. Since Tuesday was Cinco de Mayo, we wanted to have a Shin-Dig. But a lot of our friends are involved with Young Mens and Young Women's on Tuesday nights... So we decided to throw a CUATRO de Mayo party on Monday, the 4th of May. :) haha...

We had a great party... complete with Mariachi Music, a Pinata, Mexico Trivia, and Yummy Food! Thanks everyone for coming over! We had a great time! It was fun to be with everyone!

The kids had a blast with the pinata... I think I had a few mommies mad at the woman who provided all the sugar... :)

And thank you Jeff for all the work. It's usually me who throws the party, and Jeff who does all the labor of setting up. :) Thanks Honey. Love you...

Something New...

Since Dallin is now 3, I thought it was high time for him to be pulling his own weight around here. :) haha... Well at least for him to have a few jobs around the house. I found this awesome job chart template here, and tweaked it to an 8.5 by 11 size without the border. I put this together pretty quick, and might change a few things later... but it has worked wonders!!! It's amazing how quickly a little kid's attitude changes for a sticker! :) I ended up printing it out, and then putting it in a sheet protector that he puts the stickers on. That way I'm not printing out a million of these. I could just laminate it too I suppose, but I'm too lazy to go get it done at the school. :) Anyway- thought I'd share. :)

Date Night...

A couple of weeks ago, the elementary school hosted a "Mommy/Son Carnival" for everyone in the area. I thought this would be perfect for Dallin and I since we haven't had much time for just us. We ended up having so much fun! It was FREEZING cold outside with the wind blowing, but it didn't stop us. :) They had a few of the boys in the area who are leaving on missions soon talk to the older boys about being good examples and doing what's right in high school. It was really good. Then they served Corn dogs for lunch. After that, they gave us all little score cards for all of the games outside. But for a while, Dallin was more interested in the animal cutouts in the gym:

After getting some pictures taken, we ventured outside finally. Dallin was a little scared of the clown at first, but as soon as I told him she was friends with his nursery leader, Sister Leigh, (Mrs. Leigh teaches first grade at the school and the "clown" is her aide), he cozied right up to her. She made him a cute little balloon dog.

We finished up by getting some popcorn and cotton candy, and playing a few games:

We had a really great time...

And the best part was listening to Dallin tell EVERYONE that we were on a date.
I have such a cute little boy who was a perfect gentleman.
He can take me out again anytime...

OCD Much?

Moments...

Today did not start out as a very good day. During the middle of one of the biggest tantrums I have ever seen from my older child, I placed my baby girl on the couch so I could get after Dallin. After I placed him in his high chair to lock him in so he would eat- I turned back around to get Allison and didn't see her on the couch. I found her on the floor, crying so hard that she wasn't breathing. I lost all sense of reality and started bawling the second I got to her. It scared me so bad... I can't even tell you. I was pacing back and forth, praying she was alright, while all three of us were crying. Luckily, everything was ok- she was just mostly scared.
I had two great friends come to comfort me and to check her over to make sure she was alright. One just happened to be on a walk and had a feeling to come check on me... The other threw all of her kids in the car the second I called and was here in just a few minutes. I really am blessed with such great friends here... Ones that are in tune to the spirit and so willing to be there at a drop in the hat! Thank you so much Ann and Chantelle.
After being quite emotional for a few minutes there... Chantelle took Dallin to the park for me and I had some time alone to think. There are days that are hard... Very hard... I always feel like I take one step forward and two steps back in my parenting... I really felt like a failure of a mother today...
But I know that no matter what. No matter what mistakes I make- I love my kiddos with all my heart. I want so much for them. Slowly I'm learning to be a better mom... And thankfully my children are patient with me. They are my world. I wouldn't trade my moments with them for anything!
